The first person conceived by in vitro fertilisation was born 46 years ago, and nowadays there are hundreds of reproductive medicine clinics in different countries of the world where you can undergo IVF infertility treatment. Many people, having faced the problem of infertility and having compared the conditions of treatment in different countries, decide to do IVF in Ukraine.

Advantages of in vitro fertilisation in Ukraine

More and more Ukrainians who need reproductive medicine services do not resort to medical tourism, but turn to specialists in their home country. And citizens of other countries willingly go to Ukraine to be examined and treated for infertility. There are many reasons for this:

  • In many countries IVF, egg donation, surrogacy are not legalised at all or there are legal restrictions. In Ukraine, the legislation is much more flexible than in some European countries - IVF services are provided to married couples and unmarried women, there are no legal restrictions on the age of IVF;

  • assisted reproductive technologies have been used in Ukraine for more than 40 years, and IVF has been performed since 1990, and specialists have accumulated solid experience;

  • prices are much more affordable than in some other countries.

There are some disadvantages of IVF in Ukraine for foreigners:

  • the need to travel to another state, transport costs;

  • the need to find accommodation, hotel for the time of examination and all medical manipulations;

  • and the main disadvantage is that today there is a war in Ukraine.

Is it safe to do IVF in Ukraine?

Many foreign citizens, having weighed all the pros and cons, go to Ukraine for IVF, and medical tourism continues despite the military situation. Hospitals and clinics are equipped with bomb shelters of high reliability, which create quite comfortable conditions for patients and staff. A backup power supply has been organised, and a stock of liquid nitrogen has been created in cryopreserves where frozen eggs, sperm and embryos are stored. The services of the capital's clinics are actively used by both Kiev citizens and visitors, without fearing for their own safety, because Kiev as a whole is under the reliable protection of air defence.

Safe conditions are created in the capital's reproductive medicine clinic ICSI Clinic, which offers different IVF programmes with ICSI, egg donation services, surrogacy, cryopreservation, genetic testing. The clinic has been operating since 1998, over these years more than 11400 babies have been born thanks to its specialists.
